Peter Malone is a contemporary realist painter with a current focus on portraits. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts and Teachers College, Columbia University, he has been exhibiting his work locally and nationally since 1984. He also serves as Art Gallery Director at Kingsborough Community College, of the City University of New York.

Subject Matters is a space designed for an on-going conversation dedicated to exploring the role of painting as a contemporary art form. Though not as pre-eminent as it once was, painting is very much with us and requires intelligent dialogue if it is to grow and develop in this new century. All who find art important are invited to comment, but painters are particularly encouraged.
